田啟元是一位以筆鋒與劇場寫下抗爭的文學與藝術創作者。他年輕時公開同志身分，於1987年在成功嶺時向長官坦承自身性傾向及愛滋感染狀況，消息曝光後，他被台灣師範大學強迫休學，復學時更須撰寫自白書自證並非「行為不檢」而被感染愛滋。
他曾創立「時代映畫劇團」（後更名為「臨界點劇象錄」），以劇場為基地，透過戲劇創作燃燒個人生命經驗，也訴說弱勢者的壓抑與奮力。他的作品融合酷兒視角與身體政治，在當時是極其罕見的發聲。
他的創作像火焰一樣燃燒，傳遞人權與自由的理念，像一道曾經微弱卻堅定的火光，照亮更多與他一樣孤獨掙扎的靈魂。
Profile
Tian Qi-yuan is a literary and artistic creator whose work channels resistance through writing and theater. He publicly came out as gay at a young age, and in 1987, while serving at Chenggongling, he disclosed both his sexual orientation and HIV-positive status to his superiors. After the news became public, he was forced to suspend his studies at National Taiwan Normal University, and upon reinstatement, he had to submit a personal statement to prove he was not “morally improper” and that his HIV infection was not a result of misconduct.
Tian founded the Era Theater Troupe (later renamed Critical Point Theater Record), using theater as a platform to channel personal experiences and voice the struggles of marginalized communities. His works, blending queer perspectives with body politics, were remarkably rare at the time.
His creative output burns like a flame, conveying the ideals of human rights and freedom—once a faint but steadfast light, illuminating the path for others struggling in solitude just as he did.
